Fabric Pests - Carpet Beetles Cloth Moths
Adult carpet beetles are small and oval, have knobbed antennae, and scales or hairs present on their body. The colors of the scales or hairs produces color patterns that varies from species to species. The larvae have a tapering wedge-shaped body covered with hairs. Larvae of most species have a tuft of hairs at the end of the body.
It is thought that carpet beetles evolved to feed on animal hair, fur, hide, and in the balance of nature, help decompose dead animals. Adults feed on pollen and are frequently found on flowers, again suggesting that members of this group are not well suited to living indoors. Some members of this group can also feed on stored products like cereals, nuts, dried meats and cheese.
Webbing Clothes Moth
There are several species of moths that may damage fabrics. The clothes moths most likely to be a problem are the webbing clothes moth and the casemaking cloths moth.
The webbing clothes moth larva spins silk webbing on the fabric and feeds under the webbing. After going through several molts, it pupates and becomes an adult moth. The adult moth is about 1/2" long and creamy white with a golden tuft of hairs on its head.
Casemaking Cloth Moth
The casemaking clothes moth larva lives inside a tubular case that it constructs out of silk and fibers. The larva "drags" the case around with it as it feeds and will die if it is separated from its case, probably from desiccation. Again, a full-grown larva will pupate and turn into a small white moth.

- Target The Source: First we identify and target the source of your pest problem with our custom treatment.
- Inside Treatment: We then treat unfinished basements, garages, crawl spaces, trash areas, attics, wall voids, and even inside electrical sockets. Wherever there is the possibility for a pest to enter your home or make residence, we create a barrier to protect you. We deploy a variety of techniques depending on what works best for your situation, including residual powder, gel, and bait.
- Outside Treatment: We create a protective barrier around your home using a granular base around the foundation. We then treat windows and doors, as well as under siding, to keep the pests out. We will also place a granular bait in your flower and mulch beds so that bait is taken back to any potential nests, destroying them.
For residential services we offer a 90 day warranty for roaches and silverfish (general pest control) on our initial service, quarterly service, semi-annual service, annual service, and one time treatments as long as the customer empties their kitchen cabinets, pantry, and bathroom cabinets for the first time treatment. We offer a 30 day warranty for flea treatments, for the inside only, as long as we treat the outside at the same time. The same warranty terms apply to spider and ant treatments. We do not offer a warranty on general pest control, ant, spider, or flea treatments if we treat the outside only. We must treat both the inside and outside for the warranty period to be effective. Termite treatments carry a ten year warranty as long as we reinspect the home annually during the warranty period.
